Some highlights of the many found in this part of Egypt are Aswan's lively Souq. The great Aswan Dam. One of the most fampus temples in the world - The Great Temple of Ramses II at Abu Simbel. The Temple of Horus in Edfu which is Egypt's second largest temple. The Temple of Kom Ombo. which dates from 180 BC and is beautifully located on a bend in the river Nile and Philae Temple which was dismantled and reassembled (on Agilika Island about 550 meters from its original home on Philae Island) in the wake of the Aswan Dam project.
